Medium Community Token (MECOT)

About the Token

MECOT is a BEP-20 token deployed on the Binance Smart Chain. It enables on-chain voting, airdrop rewards, and serves as the utility token for my Medium community educating people about the crypto world.

AI, crypto and writing are my passion. I thus started a Medium profile sharing knowledge about the crypto space. But it is becoming more than a profile - it is a community. This token simultaneously serves as a learning experience - members of the community can follow me on the journey of creating a real-valued crypto token - as well as means to interact with the community.

How It Works

🗳️ Voting

Holders of MECOT can participate in on-chain governance by voting on proposals as well as sharing ideas, via which the community can interact with me and (more importantly) each other. Vote weight is determined by token balance.

🎁 Airdrops

The token's popularity will be boosted by different airdrop events - e.g. aidropping 1000 MECOT to the first 10 commenters of each new Medium post.

🔥 Burn Mechanism

Re-occuring burn events reduce the token's supply, consequently increasing value of all holders. From the pool of 300,000 tokens used for airdrops, burn events and more, a percentaged amount is burned. For now, the following two burn events are planned:

Burn 0.001% of the pool for every new Medium follower
Burn 0.0001% of the pool for every clap on select articles

🛡️ Locked Liquidity

The team wallet's liquidity is locked with small amounts of the contents being released over time.
